Noël Christopher Barengo, MD, PhD
Dr. Noël C. Barengo has over 20 years of experience teaching epidemiology, research methods, and public health. He has taught extensively in undergraduate and graduate programs across Europe and Latin America.
Dr. Barengo’s research focuses on population health and non-communicable diseases, emphasizing the prevention of hypertension, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. He is actively involved in professional organizations such as the American Public Health Association, the American Diabetes Association, the International Diabetes Federation, and America’s Network for Chronic Disease Surveillance. He has worked as a consultant for the Pan American Health Organization and the health ministries in Argentina, Colombia, and Paraguay.
Dr. Barengo has co-authored over 160 peer-reviewed articles. He brings a global perspective and a commitment to advancing public health through education and research.

Om P. Ganda, MD
Dr. Om Ganda graduated from the SMS Medical College, Jaipur, Rajasthan, India, and earned his MD (Medicine) at the AIIMS, New Delhi in 1970.
Dr. Ganda began his tenure at the Joslin Diabetes Center and the Harvard Medical School as a Research Fellow in 1973.
He is the Director of Lipid Center, Chair of the Joslin Clinical Guidelines Committee, senior faculty of Global Education and Care (GEC), and an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA
Dr. Ganda has been a co- investigator in a number of NIH-funded clinical trials, including the landmark DCCT/EDIC, and Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP), and several multi-national clinical trials related to Lipids and Cardiovascular disease, including the recently completed the REDUCE-IT, and the PROMINENT trials.
Earlier, he was a co-investigator in other NIH- sponsored studies on the pathogenesis of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes in monozygotic twins and offspring of both parents with type 2 diabetes.
Board Certifications: American Board of Internal Medicine, American Board of Endocrinology, and American Board of Clinical Nutrition.
Dr. Ganda is an active member of ADA, the Endocrine Society (TES), AACE, and NLA. He served as a member of the Board of Directors of AACE and a member of the AACE clinical practice, and lipid guidelines task force.
As an educator, Dr. Ganda has been a frequently invited speaker at various conferences in North America, Latin America, South and East Asia, Middle- East, and Europe.
Dr. Ganda has > 200 peer-reviewed publications, most in high impact journals, including > 150 original publications and 34 book chapters.

Jean Claude Mbanya, MD, PhD, MRCP (UK), FRCP (London)
Jean Claude Mbanya is Professor of Medicine and Endocrinology at the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, University of Yaoundé I, Director Biotechnology Center and Postgraduate Dean Doctoral School of Life Sciences, Health and Environmental Sciences, University of Yaoundé 1. He is also Consultant Physician and Director of the National Obesity Centre at the University Teaching Hospital in Yaoundé. He is Honorary President of the International Diabetes Federation. His research interests are in the epidemiology of non-communicable diseases, especially diabetes and its complications, ethno-pharmacology and molecular biology of diabetes, hypertension, and thyroid diseases and their impact on the health care systems of developing countries. Output from his scientific research and service career has been published in 27 international book chapters and 190 papers indexed in peer-reviewed journals.
Among numerous other outstanding achievements for diabetes, as President of the International Diabetes Federation (2009 - 2012), he championed the convening of the first ever United Nations High Level Summit on non-communicable diseases held in 2011. His outstanding achievements have been recognised widely around the world. Among others, he was the 2004 recipient of the American Diabetes Association Harold Rifkin Award for Distinguished International Service in the Cause of Diabetes. In 2011 he was conferred the degree of Doctor philosophiae honoris causa by the University of Oslo for significant scientific contribution and work of outstanding quality furthering the scientific endeavour. He is fellow of Cameroon Academy of Sciences and Dean of Biological Sciences of the Academy. He is also fellow of the Third World Academy of Sciences. He has also served for several years as Member WHO African Advisory Committee on Health Research and Development (AACHRD), WHO Expert Advisory Panel on Chronic Degenerative Diseases Diabetes and WHO Committee on Classification and Diagnosis of Diabetes.

Samuel Seidu, MD
Prof Sam Seidu is Professor in Primary Care Diabetes and Cardio-metabolic Medicine. He is currently the vice-chair for Research for Primary Care Diabetes Europe (PCDE). He is a board member of the Primary Care Diabetes Society of UK and is also currently a Clinical Lead and mentor for diabetes in the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Integrated Care System. In 2021, he was named the most outstanding early career researcher by the Royal College of General Practitioners. He is an associate editor of the Primary Care Diabetes journal.
